A Nice, sunny evening, and we did a three parks ride to the less well explored South West of Edinburgh.

Following the Water of Leith path to Leith & Leith Links, we rode along the prom at Portobello and then Windsor Place and Bath St (The Christian Path being closed) then into Figgate Park (park 1).  A run along Duddingston Row took us to the Innocent, where we tracked Westward to Forkenford. A quick hop along the dual use pavements saw us riding around Craigmillar Castle Park (Park 3).  A brief pause to admire the Castle, then back into the path system to the Royal Infirmary.

Climbing Upper Craigour and the Old 'Old Dalkeith Rd' took us into Edmonstone Policies patk (Park 3), a neglected wasteland. There we had to change our plans a bit. The intention has been to cross through into the Wisp and Drum Wood (Park 4), but it was just too overgrown since our last visit, and very dark. We could barely find the ruined mansion, let alone cross through it. So we were starting to feel a bit like extras from the Blair Witch Project at this point. The charred shell of a totally burnt out car added to the eerie atmosphere.  And inside the bypass, too!

So, we decided to trek no further South, but instead to spin down the A7 and Gilmerton Road into town, where a welcome beer in the Peartree rounded off the Evening.
