On a sunny evening, on the penultimate ride of the year, Norman took six evening riders down the Rocheid path and across Inverleith park, then into the path system. Emerging at Davidsons mains, we looped round and into the grounds of Lauriston Castle. Once inside, we made our way to the japanese garden where we explored a little.

The gardens were built to celbrate a friendship agreement between Kyoto and Edinburgh, and there is more about them here, http://www.edinburghspotlight.com/2010/05/review-edinburgh-kyoto-friendship-garden-2/ including the fact that cyclists are excluded, making them quiet!

For the return leg we rolled along the proms amid the fablous setting sun at Crammond, and we climbed up from the Waterfront estate, via Forthquarter Park, and then to the Red Bridge, where the group divided and left four riders to spin along to the final destination, the Raeburn House Hotel at Stockbridge.

A couple of nice drinks completed this ride and left us looking forward to the final ride of 2016, on 25th August.
